Plantify is a grassroots organization dedicated to connecting people to nature. Initially, we endeavor to achieve this by:
1. Pursuing initiatives to democratize access to nature and native plants.
2. Hosting horticulture therapy workshops and educational events.

Education
Education is a key pillar of Plantify, rooted in a hands-on, 'learning by doing' approach. We believe that education builds confidence and fosters critical thinking, helping individuals stay open to the evolving challenges of our world.
Our commitment to education is grounded in hands-on learning, scientific integrity, and community connection. Toku and Keegan have served as hosts for the Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour , sharing their living knowledge of native plants with hundreds of visitors. As active members of the California Native Plant Society and the UC Jepson Herbarium, we stay connected to the forefront of botanical science and conservation.
We contribute as technical advisors to the Hayward Area Shoreline Planning Agency (HASPA) and collaborate on native habitat restoration projects with EBMUD and East Bay Regional Parks (EBPARKS). We are also proud members and grant recipients of the California Invasive Plant Council (Cal-IPC).
In addition to our fieldwork, we lead thriving online communities that help bring ecological gardening to the digital commons. We founded and operate the Northern California Native Plant Gardening Facebook Group, which has grown to over 1,300 members and continues to expand. Our work in these spaces reflects our belief that education grows best when it’s rooted in community.

Science
Grounded in environmental science and ecology, our work is founded on academic, research-based knowledge to ensure accuracy and impact. By partnering with like-minded organizations, institutions, and experts, we create hands-on activities and demonstrations that inspire the next generation of scientists and environmental stewards. Through education and engagement, we aim to spark curiosity and foster a deeper understanding of the natural world.
Charity
Plantify’s charitable work is centered on democratizing access to nature, ensuring that everyone, especially underserved communities, can experience the benefits of the natural world. We focus on supporting schools by collaborating with STEAM teachers to enhance their learning objectives. Through nature outings and biophilic workshops, we provide enriching, hands-on experiences that connect students with nature, fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment.
Plantify is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization formally incorporated in 2023.
