What We Do

At Plantify, we work at the intersection of ecology, education, and community to reconnect people with the natural world. Our programs are rooted in science, shaped by community, and designed to make nature more accessible to all.

Education & Community Access to Nature

Picture
Nature can heal and inspire – the psychological and physiological benefits of exposure to the natural world are incontrovertible. However, in the United States and around the world access to the dwindling wild spaces is not equal, and socioeconomic status is one of the primary drivers of inequitable access.

Plantify endeavors to democratize access by organizing guided nature outings for individuals in underserved communities, including coordination of transportation and development of engaging educational curricula. Whether it is our resident plant scientist or guest experts, our nature outings seek to educate and expose participants to the natural spaces around them. We want to instigate dynamic and long-lasting relationships between people and nature – both to promote wellness in underserved communities and propagate grassroots conservationists.

Horticulture Therapy & Events

We design immersive, hands-on experiences that reconnect people with nature through creativity, sensory engagement, and ecological awareness. Our workshops and events invite participants to slow down, work with living materials, and build meaningful relationships with the natural world.

Rooted in the principles of biophilic design, our offerings blend art, science, and wellness—creating spaces where people can learn, explore, and feel grounded in nature.

Native Plant Systems & Restoration

Picture
We design and support native plant systems that restore ecological function, strengthen biodiversity, and connect communities to place. Our work spans from neighborhood-scale gardens to regional collaborations, all rooted in the understanding that healthy ecosystems begin with locally adapted plant communities.

We integrate California native plants into community spaces, educational programs, and restoration efforts—creating landscapes that are not only resilient, but also meaningful and accessible to the people who live alongside them.

Our approach combines hands-on implementation with community engagement and cross-sector collaboration. We work alongside public agencies, environmental organizations, and local partners to contribute to broader efforts in climate resilience, habitat restoration, and shoreline adaptation.
